“There is More to the Old Bakehouse than meets the eye”
Please find our six monthly update to let you know what’s happening, and what we have on offer for you at the Old Bakehouse West Linton; a family favourite at the heart of the local community.
Welcome to the story so far
“out of the fire and into the frying pan”
Sue And Ian Gray took Over at the Old Bakehouse in April 2016 following a combined fifty years experience in the hotel and restaurant industry. Focussing their efforts to maintain and further improve the standards and reputation that the Bakehouse has enjoyed for many years; they are delighted to welcome Pascal Theze, new Head Chef supported by Sue Gray as Second Chef, working relentlessly to deliver you amazing food and great value.
Our new menu brings an exciting change, maintaining the aim of delivering great flavour, great variety, and value to all of our guests. In an exciting year and a half, we have been overwhelmed with the support and feedback from all of our valued guests. With this in mind we want to give something back to you, and to the broader community of the Scottish Borders, Edinburgh, the Lothian’s, Lanarkshire and further afield. As well as a change in menu and drinks offering we have also been busy refurbishing the Old Bakehouse with sympathy for its history, age and position in West Linton.
It’s A Family Affair. Keeping it close to home.
The Old Bakehouse is a family run restaurant, with your family at the heart of everything we do. We are delighted to welcome large parties for celebratory events including Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Retirements, Christmas events and much more. We also host exclusive use events and can accommodate up to seventy people. Sue, Pascal and Ian will be happy to design menus and drinks selections to suit your needs and help your budget. We consider the local community as an extension of family, and where possible we aim to use local suppliers for all products and services at the Old Bakehouse. What is better than eating food grown and reared in your own back yard.
Charity begins at home. Your home and our home.
We realise the power of giving as a collective responsibility, and we are proud to let you know that on a quarterly basis we will be running competitions and initiatives with this aim and mission in mind. Each year we will be supporting two local, and two national charities, this year for example we are supporting the Scottish Poppy Appeal, and Marie Curie. We need your support in giving to these charities, also in identifying local charities within the immediate reach of West Linton that matter to you the most. Together we will succeed, let us start now and let’s make a difference.
