Our Food

Steve and Fiona are delighted to be using very high quality local food delivered to your table, which also keeps their food miles low. We are so pleased that so much can be sourced locally.

We are using Mendick Hill Lamb from Hamish Dykes – Cottage Farm Goat from Michael King – Baddinsgill Pheasant from Gavin Marshall – Dunsyre Blue from Errington Cheese, and game from various local estates. Scotland has a fantastic larder to cook from (we always use Scotch beef) and we are so lucky to have fantastic suppliers on our doorstep.

“This was quite the find”

Driving home from Edinburgh to Cheshire and in need of a meal after watching (& my daughter running) the Edinburgh marathon, the Old Bakehouse popped up on a search of nearby by places on Google. Only a short diversion offs our route we decided to give it a try and what fantastic decision that was. We only wanted mains and ordered a burger, enchiladas, chicken Milanese and my wife had the asparagus starter. The food was served promptly by very friendly staff and was absolutely stunning. The building makes great use of the space and is a lovely setting, add to this the friendly and attentive staff and the fantastic food and this was quite the find.

A mix of bistro favourites like Chicken Liver, Brandy & Garlic Pâté and Toasted Nachos and newer dishes like Home Smoked Haddock, Parsley & Potato Bon Bons there’s bound to be something to get your mouth watering.

Mains

With a wide selection from our char-grill, signature dishes like Old Bakehouse Rossini and classics like Ballotine of Chicken and Moules et Frites plus vegetarian and vegan options, we’ve got you covered.

Desserts

Sticky Toffee Pudding. Locally made ice creams. Cheesecake. Cheese board. Can we tempt you? (All our desserts are homemade).

Sundays at the Old Bakehouse

A long standing tradition at the Old Bakehouse we go from the Full Scottish to Huevos Rancheros and brunch favourites like Eggs Benedict. And of course the traditional Sunday Roast with all the trimmings. Full menu also served from 12pm all day.
